Review Summary: Good first tripod....but not great.
Review Content: This is without doubt great value for money.
And in fact I was very impressed...........until I extended it.
The actual tripod head is really quite good, I was more than satisfied with being able to easily pan to the left and right and switch to portrait.
However, when extended to anything near eye level it really is quite flimsy and is not very stable at all, which seems to me the main purpose of a Tripod? (this does make it very lightweight though)
Therefore it certainly shouldn't be considered for serious amateur or semi-pro Photography.

Review Summary: Excellent for D-SLR Photography
Review Content: I bought this for my Sony A300 D-SLR, and must say yet agian I'm impressed by Sony's products. The height this tripod reaches is great! I'm 6'4" and only have to bend slightly to use the view finder. One great feature is the detachable lock that you attach your camera too. This has a quick release mechanism that allows you to quickly detach your camera if you see something that you simply must snap!
One slight quibble was that when the tripod was fully extended it didn't seem as stable, there was a slight shake with a strong wind, but for the price I can put up with that!

Review Summary: Brilliant First Tripod
Review Content: This is my first tripod and im going to be using it mainly for camcorder usage but also it can be used with still cameras.
Its really nice and sturdy with thick legs. Ive seen a couple pics of other makes of tripods and the legs look really thin and flimsy! not the case on this tripod!
Nice little spirit level is a good feature and really does go from being small to being big! it comes to just above my eye level when fully extended legs and the head cranked up all the way with the neat little lever, and im around 5"9
Now im using a Sanyo Xacti HD700 on it at the moment and thats a really small and light video camera! but the tripod still provides quite smooth panning and tilting! It will be better with a larger, heavier video camera.
